Hey, sorry I have been so MIA–since getting back from Boston I feel like I have been non-stop: working, babysitting, plans with *new friends this weekend, a party Friday night, yoga, family plans… you get the idea 😉 Anyway, it took me a few days of putting this post together, then adding the pictures last night, but I hope you enjoy! Have a great day loves, < J
My family reunion last week was so much fun, I’ve just been looking at the pictures I took while there, and it makes me miss them all! We have this family reunion once a year–my mom’s side–and it’s really the only time to get the aunts, uncles and cousins together! This year was in the Boston area, where two of my aunts and a bunch of cousins live.
We spent the week hanging out, swimming, sunning, going in to Boston and riding the ferry one day, doing Hampton Beach another day…
😉 Heh, heh.
My mom, sister and I were also assigned a night to cook for the crowd, about twenty five people! We made a great Spanish-style feast of fajitas (meat and veggie,) beans, rice and my sister made two amazing strawberry rhubarb pies! I normally detest rhubarb but these were amazing! I was also in charge of an important component of the meal, making a batch of sangria!
Getting to see all my cousins was great, especially my cousins two daughters who have grown up so much since last time (two years ago?) that I’d seen them! This picture was taken on the day we went into Boston, after escaping the random downpour rainstorm!
Later, there was a lot of laughing, and reminising…
*So many people take family for ranted, but because mine is so far away, I never do. I think it is so important to nmake time for family, because it is so easy to not make time for them, and to let those relationships fall by the wayside. * How often do you see your extended family, do you have a good relationship with them? Are you *friends* with your cousins?–I know I would hang out with some of my cousins my age, if we lived closer, We have so much fun together!
